WILLIAM EARL KETTEMAN III

(November 14, 1943 – May 14, 2023)

William Earl Ketteman III, 79 of Cobden, IL died on May 14, 2023 at his home, after a lengthy illness. His quick wit and wisdom will be missed. Celebration of life will be held in Benton, IL at a later date. He was born in Havana, IL on November 14, 1943 to John and Mary (Lynch) Ketteman, now deceased. He graduated from Benton High School. He was then drafted in the Army and sent to Vietnam. Where he was wounded and he received the Purple Heart. He did make it home. He managed several companies over the years. Then he found his true passion. He was a master carpenter in South Carolina. His hobby was making beautiful furniture. He moved back to Illinois to be by family a few years ago.

He is survived by his BROTHERS: Raymond (Roberta) of West Frankfort, IL, John (Shirley) of Pleasant Valley, MO, Rich, and Jesse (Brenda) of Effingham IL, Ronald (Marilyn) of Burlington, NC, Warren (Lisa) of Waxahachie, TX, Francis (Debbie) of Waltonville, IL, Delbert (Debbie) of Tolono, IL SISTERS: Janice (Brad) Masters of Saraland, AL and Roselyn (Kevin) Johnson of Mt. Vernon, IL And many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Nancy (Thomas) and his second wife Wanda(Anderson), his sister Mary Comp and his sister-in-law Patricia Ketteman.
