Virgilene Mary (Conner) Bivona

Virgilene Mary Bivona, age 79, a resident of Spaulding IL, died on Thursday, July 9, 2020, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL.

Born April 7, 1941, in Benton, IL. She was the daughter of the late Bryan Conner and Stella Holman.

Virg is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Joseph who passed away three months prior. She was the beloved mother of Joseph (Diana) Bivona, Jr. and treasured grandmother of Gianna and Gage Bivona.

Before retiring, Virg was self-employed as a hairstylist in Chicago Heights. She loved traveling, gardening, reading, watching crime shows with her granddaughter, and debating politics with her grandson.

Family was especially important to Virg. Spending time with siblings and her extended family brought great joy to her throughout her life. She was always quick to lend a listening ear and helping hand to family and friends.

She is also survived by her brother Roy (Irene) Conner, sister Virginia Yancy, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her brothers Lail and George Conner, and sisters Ruth Lampley, Viola Burton, Thelma Laws, Kathryn Stowers, and Linda Phillips,

Visitation at the Morton and Johnston Funeral Home on Thursday, July 16th from 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. A funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Franklin Cemetery in Whittington.
