Rev. Glen Allen Smith, 89, of Benton "Went Home to be with the Lord" on Tuesday evening, October 12, 2021.
He was born in Thompsonville, IL on August 26, 1932, the son of Allen Ray & Essie (Carlile) Smith.
He married Phyllis June (Davis) on Sunday April 13, 1952 at Glen's mom and dad's house in Benton, IL.
Glen served in the US Army during the Korean War. He served at Camp Atterbury, then at Fort Riley, KS and was discharged in 1954 while at Fort Carson, CO. Glen was Pastor at Souls Harbor Pentecostal Church for 7 years. Glen performed the marriage ceremony of most of his children. For many years Glen & Phyllis owned & operated Smith's Lakeview Moblie Home Park.

Rev. Smith was preceded in death by his Parents.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Thursday, October 14th at the West City Church of God with Pastor Harol Whitlock officiating. Burial with Military Rites conducted by the Thomponville American Legion will be in the Pleasant Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Thompsonville. Visitation will be after 11:30 A.M. on Thursday at the church.
