Rachel E. (Burkey) Mitchell

Rachel E. Mitchell, 83, of Benton passed away Wednesday evening December 28, 2022 at Benton Rehab & Health Care Center.

Rachel was born in Lawrenceville, IL on July 29, 1939 the daughter of Fred A. & Marjorie Elizabeth (Newell) Burkey.

She was married to the love of her life Bill Mitchell and he preceded her in death on September 1, 2017.

Rachel worked for Medical Records at Franklin Hospital for many years. She loved her family, sewing and Christmas.

Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by her Parents, 2 Sisters, 1 Brother and a grandson Scott Jones.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Monday, January 2nd at the Community of Christ Church, 3663 Chestnut Street in Thompsonville, IL with Pastor Ann Schwengel officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic & Odd Fellows Cemetery in Benton. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon on Monday at the church.
