Joann Sue (Smothers) Richardson

Joann Sue Richardson age 91 of Atlanta, Georgia passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at Sunrise of Buckhead in Atlanta.
Joann was born in Benton, Illinois on October 10, 1929 the daughter of the late Carl Smothers and Lillian Pilson Smothers. She was an educator and taught at Barton Elementary school in Lantana, Florida. Joann had a great love of music and played the piano at her church. She was also a Christian.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Debra Richardson and Phil Eaton, Delray, Florida, son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Janet Richardson, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; grandchildren, Brandon Malwitz, Michael Richardson, Ryan Richardson, Jared Richardson and nine great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Richardson in October 2016.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 P.M. on Friday, August 20th at the Morton & Johnston Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Richardson officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic & Odd Fellows Cemetery in Benton. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. to 12:30 P.M. on Friday at the funeral home.
