Jo Ann (Mezo) Jones

Jo Ann Jones, 92, of Mt. Vernon passed away on Tuesday morning, May 13, 2025 at Mt. Vernon Countryside Manor in Mt. Vernon, IL.

She was born in Mt. Vernon, IL on December 22, 1932 the daughter of Joe Decatur & Ruth (Poston) Mezo.

She married Walter M. (Mutt) Jones on November 1, 1950, and he preceded her in death on January 8, 2002.

Mrs. Jones retired from Housekeeping at Good Samaritan Hospital after many years. She was a member of the Logan Street Baptist Church. She loved to shop and dancing.

Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Sons-Jason D. Jones & Dean Jones, Brothers-Bob Mezo & Johnnie Mezo and Sister- Lou Mezo.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 17th at the Morton & Johnston Funeral Home in Benton. Burial will be in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Woodlawn, IL. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. on Saturday at the funeral home.
