James Allen Akin

JAMES ALLEN AKIN, 64, of West Frankfort passed away Thursday, Oct. 29, 2020 at his home.

He was born in Chicago, IL on March 26, 1956, the son of Rev. James R. & Rosalie Marie (Brookshire) Akin.

He loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren. He loved his cats and birds, fishing, and old cars. He worked as a Security Guard for many years.

Daughter: Angie Crocker & husband Jeff of Biloxi, MS

Son: James Wayne Akin of Salina, KS

Mr. Akin was preceded in death by his Parents.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P. M. MONDAY, Nov. 2nd at the Morton & Johnston Funeral Home in Benton. Burial will be in the Masonic & Oddfellows Cemetery in Benton. Visitation will be after 11 A.M. on Monday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the Friends of FCAC-Animal Rescue, P. O. Box 210 Christopher, IL 62822 in Mr. Akin’s memory.
