Jackie (Creighton) Grimes

Jackie Grimes, 91, former Franklin County resident passed away at 4:45 A.M. on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at the Fireside House of Centralia.

She was born in Chicago Heights, IL on April 6, 1934 the daughter of Jack Edward & Fleeta (Burton) Creighton.

She was a strong woman raising her 5 children by herself while being blind. Mrs. Grimes loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and music. She was a Cardinals fan. She loved her numerous friends who she considered family. She was a member of Whittington Church.

Mrs. Grimes was preceded in death by her Grandparents, Parents, 1 Son-Charlie, 2 Daughters-in-law-Lana & Loretta (Cookie) and 1 Brother.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, August 4th at the Morton & Johnston Funeral Home in Benton with Rev. Mark Minor officiating. Burial will be in the Shiloh Cemetery in Whittington. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Monday at the funeral home.
