JACK CLAY EMBERTON SR. passed away at 12:32 P.M. on June 17, 2023. Jack was born and raised in Thompsonville, IL. He graduated from Thompsonville High School in 1961.
Jack married Doretta Ann Wilcox on April 29, 1967. He then went to work as a lineman journeyman and was instrumental in bringing electricity to rural Illinois.
In the mid 70’s, Jack went to work for Old Ben Coal, staying with the coal mines for 20 years. He worked underground as a roofbolter and miner, as well as above ground as an electrician.

In retirement, Jack loved to tinker around the farm. He could repair anything with MSHA tape and tie wire. He never met a carburetor he couldn’t set.
Jack was a family man who took care of all of us. He will be missed daily, but more importantly, he is reunited with our mom & meemaw.
