Herman L. (Red) Perryman of Thompsonville passed away Sunday morning, September 20, 2020 at the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
Red was born in Thompsonville, IL on March 14, 1939 the son of Ezra and Geneva Perryman. He grew up in Thompsonville Illinois where he attended high school. After high school he joined the United States Air Force, which during this time he fought the cold war of Alaska and was stationed at Fairbanks, Alaska, when Alaska became a state.
Red, is survived by his wife-Velma, a son-Steve, a sister-Vivian Gregory and a younger brother Lonnie Ray; also a step-son-Scott Johnson and wife Jackie and a step-daughter Tammy and her husband Mark Sink. He has 4 grandchildren-Austin Johnson, Jeremy Joplin, Rikki Wilkerson and Christopher Johnson; two great-grandsons Rylan Johnson and River Johnson, plus two great-granddaughters, Lena and Jerrica Wilkerson.
Preceding Red in death is his Mom(Geneva) and Dad(Ezra), his son Jim, a brother Eugene, his sister Gala, a grandson Lucas Johnson, a great-grandson Ezra Ray and a step-son Brad Johnson..
It was Red's wishes to be cremated. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 17th at the Thompsonville Church of God with Pastor Brian Mixon officiating. Military Honors will be conducted at the Church.
In lieu of Flowers, Memorials may be made to the Thompsonville Church of God.
