Helen (Lager) Moore

HELEN MOORE, 96, of Benton passed away Friday afternoon, June 16, 2023 at Mt. Vernon Health Care.

She was born in Benton IL on September 3, 1926, the daughter of Barney and Euturpe (Wingo) Lager.

She married George E. Moore at her home on June 1, 1947, and he preceded her in death on March 8, 2011.

Mrs. Moore was a faithful member of the North Benton Missionary Baptist Church.  She was a faithful wife, a loving Mother, and was devoted to the Lord.  Mrs. Moore was very close with her Nieces and Nephews.  She so enjoyed family reunions, and when the extended family came in she loved preparing a meal for them.

                         Evelyn Moore of Benton

Nieces & Nephews:  Larry Rowland & wife Betty, Cathy Lawrence & husband Dave, John Rowland & wife Nancy, Sue Lager, Deanna Honey, Rex Moore, Lorraine Moore, Elaine Brizendine & husband Paul, Dirk Moore & wife Pam, Jay Moore & wife Patsy, David Moore, Dwain Moore & wife Carol Christafolo, Karen Moore, Dean Moore & wife Laurie, Scott Sims, Jim Sims.

Several grand nieces & grand nephews and great grand nieces & great grand nephews.

Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Sister & Brother-in-law: Mary & Jim Rowland, and by Brother & Sister-in-law: Phil & Mildred Lager, and by Nephews: Phil Gene Lager, Roger Honey, James Moore, Marty Sims, Steve Mitchell & Doug Mitchell.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, June 23rd at the North Benton Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Gary West & Pastor Eric Ruhe officiating.  Burial will be in the Masonic & Oddfellows Cemetery.  Visitation will be after 11:00 A.M. on Friday at the Church.
