Gene Dorris

Gene Dorris, 91, of Johnston City passed away Wednesday morning February 10, 2021 in Benton.
He was born March 20, 1929 in Marion, IL the son of Freeman & Verbal (Moake) Dorris.
Gene married Frances Elizabeth (Warren) and she preceded him in death.
Mr. Dorris was a retired Cross Country Truck Driver. He was a member of the West City Church of God.
Mr. Dorris is survived by:
Companion: Thelma Norris of Benton
Grandson: Trevor
Granddaughter: Cody
Great-Grandchildren
He is also survived by Thelma's 2 Daughters, Son-in-law and 2 Granddaughters
Mr. Dorris was preceded in death by his Parents, Wife, Son and Brother.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 13th at the Morton & Johnston Funeral Home in Benton with Pastor Harol Whitlock officiating. Burial will be in the Tower Heights Cemetery in West Frankfort. Visitation will be after 1:00 P.M. on Saturday at the funeral home.
