Gary Wayne Kearney, 70, of Benton passed away Monday night January 18, 2021 at SSM Health Good Samaritan in Mt. Vernon.
Mr. Kearney was born in McLeansboro, IL on April 30, 1950, the son of James William & Estelee (Odom) Kearney.
Gary married Marilyn (Pope) on January 1, 2002 and she survives.
Mr. Kearney was a retired farmer and loved his quail hunting preserve business which he operated in Macedonia for 10 years. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Macedonia. Mr. Kearney enjoyed hunting his whole life.

Mr. Kearney was preceded in death by his Parents.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 12:30 P.M. on Thursday, January 21st at the Liberty-Ridlin Cemetery in Macedonia with Rev. Keith Neal & Rev. Mike Cash officiating. Burial will follow. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 21st at the Morton & Johnston Funeral Home in Benton.
We ask everyone attending the services to be considerate of others and to practice social distancing. We are limited to 50 people in our building at a time, and masks are recommended.
In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital and will be accepted at the funeral home at any time.
