Obituary

DONNA J. SMITH, 62, of West Frankfort passed away Friday morning, March 25, 2022 at her home.

She was born in Benton, IL on June 14, 1959, the daughter of Zack & Beulah (Shadowen) Smith.

Mrs. Smith was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Firefighters, the Eagles, and was the President of SIGS (Southern Illinois Ghosthunter Society).  She worked for area nursing homes for many years as a cook.

2 Sons: Sean Smith & fiancée Tina Smith

               Jim Smith

1 Daughter: Monica Staley

Step-Daughter: Jennifer Bell & husband Tony

6 Grandkids: Briana Settle & husband Aaron, Zachery Smith & wife Breanna, Erica & Kendra Staley, Courtney & (Potato), Xander Smith

2 Great-Grandchildren: AJ Settle & Kynzlee Smith

3 Sisters: Billie Jo Weir

                  Cheryl Ann & Earl Pate

                  Charlene Stricklin

2 Brothers: Zack Smith

                   Jon Reed & wife Michelle

And several nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her Father-Zack Smith, by her Stepfather & Mother-Deon & Beulah Reed and Sister-Sally Lynn Smith Hamilton.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. TUESDAY, March 29th at the Morton & Johnston Funeral Home in Benton with Marty Shadowen officiating.  Burial will be in the Masonic & Oddfellows Cemetery in Benton.  Visitation will be after 12 Noon on Tuesday at the funeral home.
