Dennis Ray Wilkerson

Dennis Ray Wilkerson, 67, of Benton passed away on Wednesday morning February 18, 2026 at SIH Herrin Hospital.

Dennis was born in Benton, IL on May 10, 1958 the son of Bill & Joanne (Walker) Wilkerson.

He loved the outdoors and hanging out at Rend Lake with friends & family. He found great joy in riding his Harley and spending quiet mornings on the back porch with a cup of coffee. He also had a passion for tinkering with electronics & gadgets. He loved Gunsmoke, westerns & watching Jeopardy(and he always knew the answer to the questions.

Mr. Wilkerson is survived by his:

Daughter: Brandy Wilkerson of Benton

3 Grandchildren:

Jourdan Garbo

Tyler Ray Jones

Kaylea Jones

2 Brothers:

Gary Wilkerson & wife Betty of Eldorado

Larry Wilkerson & wife Carol of Taunton, MA

1 Sister: Terry Toms & husband Larry of Benton

He is also survived by several Nieces, Nephews, Great-Nieces & Great-Nephews.

Mr. Wilkerson was preceded in death by his Parents, 2 Sisters-Tammy Adams & Joni Wilkerson, Nephew-Justin Wilkerson and Niece-Jenna Wilkerson.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
