David Earl Davidson
David Earl Davidson, 71, died unexpectedly on December 20th, 2022, at his place of residence. He was born December 20, 1951, in Christopher, Illinois. He was the son of Victor and Lovena (Prater) Davidson.
Visitation will be Friday, January 13, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Morton and Johnston Funeral Home in Benton, Illinois. A visitation will be Saturday, January 14, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Morton and Johnston Funeral Home in Benton, Illinois with a time of sharing to follow starting at 11:00.
David graduated from Christopher Community High School, class of 1970. Following graduation he attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois. There he studied education and played saxophone in the band. He graduated class of 1975. He spent the last 30 plus years living in the St. Louis area. He worked at Bates Sales/Purvis Industries for 30 years. He was a member of the Arnold Community Jazz Band where he played saxophone and attended White Flag Church where he helped in the children’s ministry.
David is survived by his daughter Jane E. (Davidson) Perdue of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, and son Mark D. Davidson and his wife Jennifer of Winchester, Kentucky. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Izabelah (Davidson) Wells, Alizabeth Davidson, Abigail Perdue, and two great-grandchildren Gabriella and Aspen Wells.
David is preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Lovena Davidson, sister Vicki (Davidson) Hargraves, and brother-in-law John Hargraves.
