Clyde D. Bean

Clyde D. Bean, 87, of Benton passed away on Monday afternoon, November 25, 2024 at the Deaconess Illinois Medical Center in Marion.
Mr. Bean was born in Benton, IL on September 25, 1937 the son of Clyde Norwayne & Dorris Faye (Hall) Bean. 
He married Judith F. (Anderson) and she preceded him in death on December 21, 2014.
Mr. Bean was a graduate of Sesser High School where he played football. He also played football at SIU. He served in the US Navy and played basketball while serving in the Navy. He was very proud to be a Mason and he was Grand Master of the Paul Revere Lodge in Chicago receiving his 50 year pin as a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge. One of his greatest joys was coaching baseball at the Benton Community Park. He never missed any of his son's games or his grandson's wrestling matches. He retired from Illinois Bell Telephone Company.

Son: Duane Anderson Bean & fiancé Kellie Hunter
Grandson: Kyle Duane Bean & wife Taylor
3 Grandchildren:
Hailey Marie Bean
Emma Louise Bean
Kaden Duane Bean
Also surviving are several cousins.
Mr. Bean was preceded in death by his Parents and his Wife.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 30th at the Morton & Johnston Funeral Home in Benton. Military Rites will be conducted by the Benton American Legion & VFW Posts. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Saturday at the funeral home.
