Bonnie Lee (Casey) Filkins

Bonnie Lee Filkins, 83, of West Frankfort passed away Sunday morning January 11, 2026 at Helia HealthCare in Benton.

Bonnie was born in Madison, Wisconsin on July 12, 1942 the daughter of Howard & Dollie (Stebbins) Casey.

She married Joseph Earl Filkins, Jr. on December 31, 1960. He passed away on September 1, 2011.

Mrs. Filkins loved to do ceramics & crocheting. She was a member of the 2nd Baptist Church in West Frankfort. She was a member of Weight Watchers and was very proud of losing 200lbs. She was a dietician in area nursing homes, worked in the Auxiliary in UMWA Hospital in West Frankfort and was a Housekeeper.

Son: Thomas Filkins & wife Lisa of West Frankfort

2 Grandchildren:

Matthew Filkins & wife Chastity of West Frankfort

Nichole Hinman & husband Dustin of West Frankfort

16 Great-Grandchildren

Mrs. Filkins was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband and Son-Jeffrey Filkins.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P. M. on Wednesday, January 14th at the Morton & Johnston Funeral Home in Benton with Pastor Roger Teal officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic & Odd Fellows Cemetery in Benton. Visitation will be from 11:00 A. M. to 1:00 P. M. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
