Brenda Kay (Smith) Broughton

BRENDA KAY BROUGHTON, 61, of West Frankfort passed away at her home Sunday afternoon, Sept. 1, 2019 surrounded by her family.

She was born in Benton, IL on March 7, 1958, the daughter of Harold A. & Flora Helen (Willmore) Smith.

Brenda worked for many years at the Severin’s Nursing Home as a Dietary Aide.  She was a loving & caring Wife & Mother, and spoiled and adored her grandkids.

Brenda is survived by her:

Husband: Johnnie Broughton of West Frankfort

4 Children: Floyd Overturf of Vienna

                     Tim Overturf & wife Mary of Benton

                      Sally Overturf of Benton

                       Richard Overturf of Goreville

13 Grandchildren

2 Brothers: Floyd Smith & wife Kathy of West Frankfort

                      David Smith & wife Donna of Benton

Cousin: Sue Gower of Sesser

Brenda was preceded in death by her Parents, by 2 Sisters-Mary Nastasi & Clodena Lampley, and by an Aunt-Velma Gower.

Memorial services will be held at 4 P.M. Sunday Sept. 8th at the Morton & Johnston Funeral Home in Benton.  Visitation will be after 2 P.M. on Sunday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the Family to help with funeral expenses.
